Hey, What's This Halvah Stuff Anyway?

Halvah is an Eastern Mediterranean crumbly sweet confection candy thingy, that tastes delicious, but, is often made with flour and oil and not-so-good for you stuff like that. So, here we go again with a Raw alternative recipe that is easy to make and tastes great!

1 1/2 Cups of Raw Almonds
1/2 Cup Raw Tahini
3 Tablespoons of Raw Honey
1 teaspoon of Raw Vanilla
1 1/2 Tablespoons of Powdered Raw Cacao

Grind Almonds in a food processor until finely ground.
Add Honey, Tahini, and Vanilla, and mix together.
Remove 1/2 of the mixture and set aside.
Put the Raw Cacao powder in the other half and process well.
Take some Plain mixture and some Chocolate mixture and make 1" size balls (these should resemble a marbleizing pattern) after you make the Halvah balls, put in the freezer (covered, to protect against freezer burn) and wait about an hour or two and enjoy!

You can store these in the freezer, they don't really freeze that much, and if they're to hard for you, thaw them for a couple of minutes.    So that's what Raw Halvah is!   Stay Hungry.........Guy

Hit The Gym For Strength!

Today was upper body strength training day, do to the fact that my legs wouldn't be able to handle a long walk on the treadmill, let alone the elliptical machine. So, I was off to the gym this evening. I did biceps, triceps, lats, chest, and shoulders to failure. Then came home and ate a salad with romaine, shredded carrots, zucchini, tomatoes, avocado, dill, cilantro, and homemade dressing made with lemon, apple cider vinegar, and liquid aminos. I'm sore, so I'm off to rest, resssssst     Stay Hungry..........Guy

Hey, How About An Evening Jog?

So I got home today and thought, "Hey, how about I ask "The Dude" if he'd like to go out for a jog before dinner? And he says to me, "Sure, If you feel up to it." Of course I felt up to it. So, we hit the streets, and before long, and I do mean before long, I had to slow down to a brisk walk, and then run, then brisk walk, then run, then brisk walk, you get the picture. I had no idea what I was in for, but I most certainly do now. On our way back from my huge run/brisk walk expedition, I suggested, " Hey, I'll race you to the stop sign."
Well I kept up for about 10 yards or so, and gave up after 30 yards, because I had my @55 handed to me by "The Dude." Wow, when did he get that fast! Been a while since we last raced. That was a lot different than walking briskly on the treadmill at the gym for an hour @ 4 miles an hour. That was really fun though, "Runnin' with The Dude! He's so Awesome!     Stay Hungry........Guy

Just Rambling

The other day an associate of mine asked me to write about,"What's so bad about eating a hotdog anyway?"
Really? A Hotdog? Where do I start?! The Gluten-laden bun? The Ultra-Processed Meat, or lack there of?
I can go on and on about what's so bad about a hotdog, that it might take up too much of my time that I'm "not" willing to give. So, I'll just say for now, yeah, I miss what hotdogs used to to taste like, or represent to the American ways of life, but I've come to realize that hotdogs alone can not run the machine. The machine that Sarah Conner once believed in. Hey, I said just rambling right? Seriously folks, Hot Dogs taste great, unless you've evolved to a higher level of consciousness, like the rest of us relentless Vegans. Ramble, ramble, ramble, Blah, blah, blah, blah....Meat Bad !!! Veggies  good!    Stay Hungry.......Guy

A Few Words About Dairy Products

Hi, It's me again, and it's time to let the cat out of the bag on dairy products. The American Diet is centered around animal foods, sugar, and refined grains, all of which have no calcium. Cow's milk, as the dairy industry would have you believe, does contains calcium, but is not absorbed into the bones properly, because milk doesn't contain Magnesium, which is needed to accompany calcium to be properly absorbed into the bloodstream, to make the bones stronger, and prevent osteoporosis. This is why getting your calcium from dark, leafy green vegetables is the best way to get your calcium. Because, if your body isn't getting properly absorbable calcium accompanied by magnesium, the calcium in your bones will actually be leached out by dairy products, leading to bones problems, hip fractures, heart disease, and cancer, to name a few. So what are we going to use to replace milk? I'm glad you asked. My best recommendation is to make your own Raw almond milk: blend 1 cup of Raw almonds with 3 cups of spring water, and strain through cheese cloth, and there you have it, Raw almond milk, the best substitute for cow's milk you can make. If your too lazy to make your own, you can go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods and buy Organic, unsweetened almond milk already made for you. Oh yeah, dairy fat is also loaded with toxins, and is the leading cause to our nation's exposure to dioxin, which is an environmental pollutant that is highly toxic to your organs!  So, people, please cut out the diary and live longer!  Stay Hungry.......Guy

A Few Words About Soy Products

Soy is the most mucus-forming plant food in the world. Mucus interferes with the body's productivity. It slowly builds up and causes things like, asthma, weight gain, poor circulation, irritable bowel syndrome, and premature aging amongst many other digestive problems. Soy sauce is o.k. in small amounts, but I prefer Bragg's Liquid Amino's, which is basically a healthy alternative to soy sauce, that is alkalizing, and tastes the same as soy sauce. So, remember folks, don't buy into that pre-packaged hype food you see out there that contains soy of any kind. You shouldn't be buying any prepared foods anyway, make your own food out of fresh vegetables and herbs. Your body & heart will thank you in the long run!  Stay Hungry...Guy
